ALAN PEAT’S VISUAL TALK/WRITING TARGET CARDS

These will add a new dimension to target setting for 4 – 12 year olds.

With Nursery and Reception pupils they can be used with wordless picture books – hold up a card when a pupil is ‘telling’ a picture and the card acts as a visual talk target.

With older children, they become visual writing targets.

The cards help schools to begin target setting with the youngest pupils for whom a written target would be inappropriate. They also link oral expectations with later written outcomes.

The 52 postcard sized cards have child-friendly illustrations on one side and written explanations of the target on the other.
