In the academic year 2009-2010 Alan was involved in the raising writing standards project in Stoke-on-Trent’s Cluster 4 primary schools. The feedback and evaluations from teachers attending his training have been extremely positive. He has also been a keynote speaker at many Heads and Deputy Headteacher conferences internationally.
Alan’s training offers practical, effective ideas which work! Some of these ideas come from Alan’s broad range of publications (22 books so far!); you can see the whole range here or purchase online from www.thecepress.com.
Some of his approaches stem from his experience as a primary school teacher, LEA Literacy/Gifted and Talented Advisor and Teaching and Learning Consultant.
Alan is an associate consultant for the Dudley Regional Staff College and has been a training provider and The London Institute of Education. He is also the Director of the publishing company Creative Educational Press Ltd. In 2010-2011 C.E. Press will be releasing books by John Harrold (..of ‘Rupert Bear’ fame), two new publications by Alan and a guide to Art in Naples.
His achievements have led to a Fellowship Of The Royal Society of Arts (F.R.S.A.) in 2003 and most recently a Fellowship of the Historical Association (F.H.A.) ‘...in recognition of a significant contribution to the promotion and knowledge of history.’ (October 2010)
Alan’s work has now been used in 22 countries. Further impact data can be found in his blog.
